Instructors Marie has a bachelor’s degree in Art from Southampton College and graduated summa cum laude. As a young rider she successfully competed in everything from equitation, hunters, jumpers, to eventing, polo, and dressage. Marie had always had an affinity for young or difficult horses. In the past few years Marie has made it a priority to continue her education, from attending USDF workshops to going to Montana to train with natural horseman Vern Smith. She has also been to Germany to learn about sport horse breeding and managing/training young horses. Marie has worked with many young horses from weanlings to breaking and beyond. Marie competes her horse, King Comet, in dressage competitions. He is currently schooling 2nd and 3rd level. Marie and King Comet train with dressage legend Lendon Gray. More recently Marie has had an opportunity to train and compete a German Riding Pony imported from Germany. At their first show they were Reserve Champion 4th level.
Alice Petersen Alice Petersen's show career started with local hunter/jumper shows. She excelled in equitation. While attending Stony Brook University, she rode in the intercollegiate Nationals placing 5th in her class. She then focused on eventing and won ribbons at top events all over New England. Alice is an USDF Certified instructor through 2nd level and a bronze medallist. In the last couple of years Alice has concentrated on Dressage with her Dutch X Palomino "Go Bananas." In 2006 Alice and “Go Bananas” were LIDCTA’s Champion at 3rd level. They train with Lendon Gray and are currently schooling 4th level.
